Testimony
of Gilles Bouttaz
Painter, Master of Art
at the Cité de la Céramique
(Manufacture de Sèvres)
Marie-Paule Gerbault is an artist who analyses our lives in her paintings and sculptures. She is inhabited by the worldly and ideological turbulence of our society. One day, when she opened her eyes, she discovered her first humanist creation, which she laid out on canvas: l'échappée.
On her creative path, she began to blossom in a saga of fuchsias to escape society's formats and experience the freedom of her art.
She activates her paintings as she moves towards spiritual fulfilment.
She blooms souls in the shimmer of her colours, transporting us to the spectrum of light. By observing societal influences and their cacophony, she transforms the crowd into a voluminous consciousness.
The beauty of its hues removes our most archaic divisions. The liberating singularity of her glazes favours the limpidity of the transparencies in her paintings.
Above all, she has no desire to provoke good and evil. Her paintings intelligently demonstrate the dizzying fantasies of today's world and the suffering of our nature. She conquers the irrational to personalise her artistic image.
Marie-Paule Gerbault's work is a marvel of contemporary art.
